Hernia
Hernia repair surgery of the abdominal wall, umbilical, and inguinal regions is performed to correct protrusion of abdominal contents through weakened muscle or fascial layers. The procedure can be done using open or laparoscopic techniques, depending on the hernia type and patient factors. Surgical repair typically involves reduction of herniated tissue and reinforcement of the defect with sutures or mesh. Inguinal hernias are the most common and may be direct or indirect in nature. Postoperative management focuses on pain control, early ambulation, and prevention of recurrence or infection.
